Our National flag
Every free country of the world has its own flag. It is called the National flag.
We, the Indians, won our freedom on the 15th August, 1947. Since then we have been flying our own flag. The National Flag of India consists of three colors – saffron, white and green and our state emblem – the Ashoka Chakra, is embossed in the middle.
Significance of Tricolour Indian Flag
The tricolour flag of India represents the three ideals of democracy – liberty, equality and fraternity. It has, however, a special significance. The saffron colour stands for renunciation, white for truth and peace, and green for faith and chivalry. The Ashoka Chakra means our peaceful progress in all sphere of activity. We should always bow our heads in honour of the flag and must be ready even to lay down our lives to keep its honour.
