Paragraph on Irrigation

Water is the most crucial element for the growth of plants. Water requirements for different plants are different. Excessive or scarce water supply can spoil crops. Therefore, it is essential to adopt a more planned approach. This approach is known as irrigation.

Irrigation is an artificial method in which water is collected and stored and supplied whenever needed. Irrigation methods vary from region to region depending upon the type of geography and crops grown in that region.

Irrigation is the science of artificially applying water to the land to fulfill the water requirements of the crops. The water requirements need to be met throughout the crop growth so that it provides complete nourishment of the crops. This is achieved using irrigation.

Irrigation water needs to be supplied as soon as the moisture falls below the required level. There is an optimal water quantity that corresponds to maximize crop yield, and it is known as optimum water level.

Hence, using irrigation one can apply controlled amounts of water to the plants. This water can be provided at the required intervals. Irrigation helps to grow agricultural crops, rejuvenate the soil and maintains landscapes. The process of irrigation helps the crops to grow to the fullest.
