Holi: The color of festivals is one of the most popular one and is appreciated by the people across the world. This festivals is celebrated by applying color and throwing water at each other. Red, Green and Pink are the major colors of the day.

Dussehra: The festival is celebrated after the 9 days of Navratri. At many cities people have Ramleela, in which there is a theatrical play of the entire Ramayana which is stretch for the 9 days of Navratri’s. If someone wants to know about Indian culture, there is no better way to explore than this.

Diwali: The festival of diyas is one of the happiest festival as this is the day when lord Ram returned home after his Vanwas and people welcomed him by lighting Diyas outside their houses. The day is celebrated by making rangoli, decorating houses with colourful lights, eating sweets, Pooja and burning fire crackers. This is the reason why it is known as the festival of lights.

Eid-Ul-Fitr: This a Muslim festival in which people visit mosque to say prayers and continue the celebration by cooking delicious meals. People exchange gifts and children get idi (a small amount of money or gift).

Raksha Bandhan: The day devoted to the love of brother and sister. This day sisters tie a Rakhi in their brother’s hand and the brother promises to always protect her. The brother even bestow her sister with gifts and sweets.

Durga Puja: This festival is mostly famous among the Bengalis and Kolkata is the best place to experience this festival. Huge pandals are decorated with the statue of Goddess Durga in the center. People enjoy this day by dancing and singing.

Christmas: The most awaited day for the kids as they expect Santa Claus to come and bring them a lot of gifts. People decorate their houses with Christmas tree and lights.
